1. Be prompt. Be in your seat and read to learn when the bell rings. 2. Be prepared. Have assignments completed when due. Be ready to participate in paired/ group assignments. Late work not related to excused absences will not receive full credit. 3. Be nice. Treat each other, the contents of this room, and me with courtesy and kindness. Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking. WORDS MATTER Know when to listen and when to share. No phones during instruction (unless teacher directed). No photos, video, audio unless part of an assignment. 4. Be courageous. Be willing to try new things, even things you are afraid you might struggle with. Struggle and imperfection are a part of the learning process. 5. Be flexible. Be willing and able to work in a variety of ways (independent, team, group, and whole class). Things don't always go as planned; sometimes, they turn out better:) 6. Be honest. Operate with academic integrity. (See handbook.)

Daily Work = 20% of each quarter’s grade Tests and Quizzes = 80% of each quarter’s grade
Tests and quizzes include some shorter and all longer writing assignments. Collections of process work receive both daily and test grades. Project-based work receives a test grade.
Students will have opportunities for practice and feedback prior to first time and major evaluations.
